Hello people!!😄
How are you all?
These last few days, I was interning at Fortis, Shalimar Bagh as a part of the Summer School Internship Program at the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare.
As a part of the program, I had to make a small project related to mental illness. So, here is my poem: ‘THE JOURNEY: From Darkness to Light’.
I feel lost.
No hopes are in sight.
I’m wandering in the dark,
craving for some light.
I am so confused.
I don’t know what to do.
One second, I mess things up;
the other, I repent it too.
People say I’ve become insane
But does anyone actually realize my pain?
I battle with my mind every other day.
I barely have controls over what I do and say.
I scream, I shout, yet no one hears.
I often go to bed, with my eyes full of tears.
Agony and fear often numb my mind.
Genuine smiles and mirth, will I ever be able to find?
I ain’t afraid of the monsters under my bed.
I fear the demon who lives inside my head.
I’m struggling to get free;
Free from the chains that tie me;
Free from the chains that don’t let me fly.
I yearn for the flight of freedom in the sky.
The whispers of society drown me in shame.
I’ve lost my worth, confidence and name.
My path is vague, yet I keep walking.
Trying to shut the mouths that keep talking.
I wander till I find someone by my side.
She walks me to light; my path she does guide.
She embraces me and wipes off my tears.
She liberates me of my misery and fears.
She understands my problems and helps me fight.
She helps me make the decisions right.
She gifts me joy and smiles sheer;
and fills my life with peace and cheer.
She is neither my friend nor one of my kins.
She is the specialist who has helped me correct my sins.

OKAY WOW.
Firstly, this isn’t just a beautiful creative piece, but the fact that it is about people who struggle with mental illness is the highlight here.
The beautiful way in which you’ve penned down their side of the story, their struggles, their perspective is something to be applauded! 😊
This is a testament to the fact that your writings are always thought-through and have a deeper meaning behind them.
It also shows how socially aware you are.
I absolutely loved this piece Riddhima! Stunning as always. 👌💜
“I battle with my mind every other day.
I barely have controls over what I do and say.”
“The whispers of society drown me in shame.
I’ve lost my worth, confidence and name.”
These are some of my favourite lines!☺️
Ah I don’t know if I emphasised on this enough so I’ll say it again.
You’re an incredibly talented writer dear! 💜
Secondly, (this is probably the most important thing hehe) OMG YOUR HANDWRITING IS AS AESTHETICALLY PLEASING AND BEAUTIFUL AS YOU!😍💜
Your gorgeous handwriting also shows how controlled and well-placed your thoughts are!
Lots of love from me Riddhima!

Okay, firstly, THANK YOU MEGHA! ❤️🤗
Nobody but you could have spread that wide a smile on my face!😄
Secondly, the fact that you never fail to read in between the lines and understand just what I wanted to express is phenomenal! 😊💕
Thirdly, My handwriting is not as beautiful as much you’ve praised it! ( At least not that good in this one project that I wrote at midnight with my eyes so laden with sleepiness!)😅😂
Thank you for always being there for me!🤗😘❤️❤️
Lots and lots of love to you too!❤️❤️
