While the world suffers in gloom,
Some only add to the pain.
The world will soon face its doom,
With people so inhumane.
Compassion is lost in this society,
Divided by the colour of the skin.
Driven by contempt and cruelty,
None is bound to win.
Does complexion determine
Whether or not one deserves respect and empathy?
You insensitively use your power.
Have you become so devoid of love and mercy?
Can race be the distinction to draw a line
Between “the good” and “the thugs”?
You think colour gives you the power to take away someone’s breath?
Would we still slip away in silence, treating this issue with indifference and shrugs?
You take pride in your vanity.
Killing your own kind, supremacy you claim?!
Oh narcissistic and racist beings,
Do you realize that the colour we bleed is the same?!
~
Remorse consumes me when I see,
That all limits you have crossed.
You play with the lives of the voiceless.
Humanity is surely lost!!
How can you be so brutal?
Do you think ruthlessness is fun?
Remember, the supreme power counts your sins
When on the horizon, sets the sun.
There was a life inside the one you killed.
But you didn’t let it bloom.
Even before the world could welcome it,
You thrust it into an eternal sleep, in the cradle of a womb.
You’ve not just assassinated two lives,
You’ve also murdered humanity.
You drowned benevolence in the waters of your crime.
You’ve inflicted death on nature. It won’t grant you impunity.
You clothed your wickedness with fake tenderness.
Did you think this is a stupid game?
You find joy in your insanity,
While God sheds tears in shame!
While the world suffers in gloom,
Some only add to the pain.
The world will soon face its doom,
With people so inhumane.

What is going on in this world? What have we humans come down to? Do we not realize the cruelty that is slowly taking over us? Do we fail to recognize the injustice we are bringing to others and to nature? Have we become so self-centred that nothing but our own lives matter to us?
Yes, black lives matter! Yes, the lives of the innocent animals matter! Yes, the lives of women matter! Yes, the lives of the poor and the powerless matter!
Why do we fail to realize this simple thing that ALL LIVES MATTER!! And we need to stand by the sides of those whose rights are being denied, who are being discriminated against, who cannot speak for themselves alone!
Why does race become a reason to be merciless, pitiless and so terribly unkind to someone? Does skin colour give us a validation to treat others so insensitively? THIS IS INHUMANE!!
Why do we think that we have the power to play with the lives of the voiceless? They did not harm us, then why do we? Why do we decide to disguise our cruelty as kindness and leave no space for faith to bloom? Have we become so heartless that inflicting pain on others gives us joy? Are we insane? This is not a joke!! This is no fun!! We are human beings who are slowly forgetting to be human. THIS IS INHUMANE!!
Incidents like George Floyd’s murder in the United States and the killing of the pregnant elephant in Kerala are proofs that humanity is dead, that people are inhumane and that we have stooped so low that nothing but our own selfish aims and silly joys matter!
Do you not feel pain and guilt choking you? If yes, then SPEAK UP! Our indifferent silences will only end up encouraging those who commit such heinous crimes! It is time to raise your voice in solidarity!
I STAND FOR JUSTICE! I STAND FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY! I STAND FOR NATURE! I STAND FOR THE LITTLE GOOD THAT’S LEFT IN THIS WORLD!

Ah Riddhima 💜
This piece radiates the anger that I wish alot of us would feel looking at all the wrong things that hapoen around us.
Your fierceness in speaking about them is more than just an inspiration to so many dear.
“Do you realize that the colour we bleed is the same?!”
An aggressive and powerfully beautiful piece Riddhima!
The cruelty we inflict on nature and other lives under the disguise of kindness is inhumanity of the worst degree.
You’ve mentioned how humanity’s dead and the proof is amongst the the crimes enveloping us.
I personally like to believe that humanity isn’t dead but dying instead. That we’re not yet at the stage where we can’t come back from. That we’re not way past the gone.
This belief of mine is only fueled by the presence of unorthodox, open-minded and genuinely aware people like you who notice the wrong and want to bring change for the better, who speak up.
People with understanding souls and empathetic hearts like yours give me hope.
Keep writing, keep drawing, keep voicing your thoughts, keep on expressing dear.
Stay healthy and safe R!
Sending you panda hugs and love!

Ah, I understand what you’re saying! But you know what I meant was humanity isn’t dead but the humanity inside certain sections of the society surely is!
Humanity is like this tiny little flickering flame that has been providing warmth, hope, love and life to the whole mankind for all these years and now suddenly, this dying light is taking away our faith, our warmth, our hopes… It’s like humanity is on the brink of giving up but while she holds on for her dear life, the world does feel cold and bitter! I don’t know if I’m able to explain this to you clearly and fully but… Megha, somewhere, deep down, there are many like you and I who want to bring about a change for the good, who are willing to do anything that makes humanity not only exist but bloom! But there are also people who don’t understand the essence of this and are insensitively (and maybe unknowingly) destroying the faith and trust that binds the whole mankind together! It is within these people that the flame of humanity has died out, it is these people who are inhumane, it is these people whose existence becomes the reason of the deaths of many others. And, it is against these people that we need to stand!
I hope the world does realise where its good (the real genuine selfless good of the world) lies before it’s too late!
You too stay safe and healthy and happy!!
Sending you loads of love and panda hugs!❤

It is difficult to understand the level of cruelty and the total lack of empathy that can be seen around us lately. You have written a strong piece here and I applaud you for it. And your drawing…so sad. The poor elephant and her baby inside her. Who ever did this should have nighmares about having a firecracker explode inside them!

Riddhima this piece has made me felt a whirlwind of things with such a high intensity that I really had to take a moment to introspect this piece and I wish everyone reading your piece does that because it is so important.
This piece is ferocious and filled with rage and then it is also filled with frustration and heart-wrenching pain and the inhumanity around us makes a feel so many things but most importantly, it makes you feel uncomfortable about being a part of humanity and I guess that’s really the motive of this piece.
So much brutality is going around by the world by our own species to our own species and to other species. Be it the racial discrimination and murder of an innocent man on the grounds of colour or animal cruelty to harmless creatures, innocent creatures. I really felt so strongly about these matters when the news broke but lately, I have realised that these incidents created a crater inside my heart however, I just had an epiphany of my human privilege.
This privilege an albatross hanging around my neck. At the beginning of this pandemic, we saw nature bloom and as much as it was fascinating to see those changes around us, it was more heart-wrenching to realize that if humans did not exist or did not harm nature and its treasury, nature would be beautiful and secure. Amidst this pandemic, even sustaining inside cages, the humans still managed to harm nature which is so damn brutal. Animal cruelty just rips my heart off and just shoves it into the abyss, I cannot just bear it.
The entire incident of racial discrimination is so frustrating. Why is it so hard for people to understand that Black Lives Matter? Why is this even a debate and people who counter-argue this with their opinions have opinions about harming someone’s existence and right to live and how the hell is that normal?
This month is the Pride Month and one of my favorite authors made transphobia comments and I don’t know how should I even continue to look upto her anymore?
I felt a lot of things lately and this poem pretty much summarises the triggers that aroused such emotions and your feelings of exasperation, frustration, dry sarcasm, tiredness resonates.
Coming to this piece,
“You think colour gives you the power to take away someone’s breath?
Would we still slip away in silence, treating this issue with indifference and shrugs? ” These lines are so necessary as a reality check to people that indifference is not okay, it just means you are allowing yourself to be complicit by not speaking against this matter.
“There was a life inside the one you killed.
But you didn’t let it bloom.
Even before the world could welcome it,
You thrust it into an eternal sleep, in the cradle of a womb.” I teared up a bit, this is so heartbreaking to even read and speaking from an analytic point of view, you really wrote verses that have the power to inflict such palpable emotions.
The thing is that wrongdoings will happen if people are allowed to let wrongdoings happen. Humans have the power to shred humanity into pieces and spit it into charcoal but I like to believe that they are humans who are still carrying the goodness, kindness, and compassion on their bare shoulders, there are people who might not be powerful enough to think that they can bring a change but they still cradle humanity and use their voice against the cruelty but their voices are bringing the change. Every tweet, every little donation, every online petition, every revolutionary poem, every voice is bringing up the change, and awareness.
And dear R, you used your voice, your craft to bring about a change and that makes me so happy and I am proud of you for writing this piece, this piece is really special to me.
More power to you!
Keep Writing, attagirl!
Stay safe and sound!

Girl, you don’t even realise how much this comment of yours means to me!!❤ You’ve moved me to tears!
Enigma, you, literally, have sensed every little feeling, emotion and thought that I felt while writing this piece.
It truly is heartbreaking to know that there are people who think that all this is justified. I mean, how?!
Every word of yours resonates with me, E!!
It is people like you and many others who make me cling to hope at a time when humanity is slowly dying away!
Incidents like these and the many other recent horrific cases of animal abuse and police-brutality need to be condemned! The wrong-doers need to be punished! The society needs to raise its voice for the good! We need to change!!
Thank you so much, E, for raising your voice. I am deeply grateful to all those who did and continue to do!!
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Take care!!
Loads and loads of love and panda hugs! ❤
